About Refrigerator Transport

Eighteen years moving perishable freight around one of the hottest cities on earth. We have learned where cold chains break.

Our story

Started in 2008 with a simple observation

Dubai was booming, food was arriving from everywhere, and a lot of it was being moved in vehicles that had no business carrying it. Vans with a domestic cooler bolted in the back. Trucks that were switched off at every stop. Loads that left a cold store perfect and arrived compromised.

Refrigerator Transport was founded to do it properly, and we have been at it ever since — long enough to watch a lot of competitors come and go, and long enough to know that the job is not really about the vehicle.

It is about the twenty minutes your load spends on a loading bay in August. Whether the box it goes into was pre-cooled. Whether the driver shuts the door while he checks the paperwork. Those are the details that decide whether your stock is worth anything at the other end.

Owner-led, not layered

The company is run by Hanif Afridi, who has more than a decade in this trade and is reachable. That matters more than it sounds: when something goes wrong at 6am, you want a company where the person who answers can actually make a decision.

How we work

Four things we don't compromise on

These aren't marketing lines. They're the operational rules that make the difference between a delivery and an insurance claim.

Pre-cool, always

The vehicle reaches your bay already at temperature. Loading into a warm box is the single most common way a cold chain fails.

Clean between clients

Vans are washed and sanitised between loads. A van that carried fish yesterday does not carry your bread today untouched.

Drivers who understand cold

Door discipline, tight routes, secured loads. The equipment is only as good as the person operating it.

Every fuel receipt kept

Fuel and Salik are billed at cost with the paperwork to prove it. Nothing on your invoice should be a mystery.

Who we work with

Restaurants, retailers, pharma and importers

Our clients range from single restaurants running one morning produce route to grocery names distributing across the Emirates. We've worked with well-known local businesses including Al-Jabber and Spinneys, alongside dozens of smaller operations that nobody outside their trade has heard of.

The mix matters, because it keeps us honest about size. A company that only serves large accounts forgets how to send one van. A company that only does small jobs can't handle a surge. We do both.

  • Restaurants, hotels and catering companies
  • Supermarkets, grocery chains and FMCG distributors
  • Pharmacies, clinics and pharmaceutical distributors
  • Butchers, fishmongers and frozen food importers
  • Florists, event companies and nurseries
Honesty policy

We'll tell you when the cheaper option is enough

There's an easy way to make money in this business: quote the bigger truck. The customer rarely knows the difference, and the invoice is larger.

We don't do it. If you describe your load and a 1-tonne van will handle it, we'll say so — even though the truck pays us more. If your route doesn't need a freezer van, we'll tell you a chiller van is fine.

This isn't charity. It's arithmetic: a client who trusts our advice stays for ten years, and a client who was upsold once leaves after three months. We'd rather have the decade.
